The Militant (Militanti) was produced by the “New Albania” film-studio in 1984 about the revolutionary life and work of the martyr Vasil Shanto from Shkodra, one of the main founders of the Communist Party of Albania alongside Comrade Enver Hoxha and Qemal Stafa. Vasil, who is depicted in the fictional form of “Visar Shundi,” demonstrates himself as a genuine hero in his home city, where he fearlessly builds the Party in spite of the weighty occupation, feudal oppression and religious reaction.
