On January 26, 2006, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe discussed and approved the “Resolution for the Condemnation of the Crimes of Communism,” which constituted a highly dangerous attack against the peoples and the truths of history. But why this anti-communist resolution in a community of states grouped within the “democratic” institution with the initials EU?
In the political pamphlet “Fascism Knocks on Europe’s Doors,” regarding this European draft resolution, the Chairman of the Communist Party of Albania, Hysni Milloshi, wrote:
“The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, with its anti-communist draft resolution, does not only strike against communists and communist parties but aims to primarily threaten any revolutionary movement and every aspiration of peoples for socialism, to criminalize the human mind so that tomorrow every democratic movement is considered and believed to be a terrorist movement and is struck in the name of the fight against terrorism, to frighten and terrify the peoples with the danger of the ‘communist bogeyman,’ to stop and block every socialist movement and idea, and finally to convince humanity that capitalism is an eternal order.”
However, the “Resolution against Communism” of 2006, despite nearly two decades since its drafting and approval, not only did not eradicate communism as an aspiration and perspective for the peoples but, on the contrary, offered nazi-fascism. This happened and continues to happen because the old continent, and not only, despite attempting to implement numerous reforms, still finds itself in a crisis very similar to that of the 1930s, when instead of “bourgeois democracies,” nazi-fascism was installed. The current crisis of the EU states, but also beyond this institution, although covered with democratic slogans, is much more dangerous than the “yesterday” crisis that brought Hitler and Mussolini to the stage. It is more dangerous because, alongside the inevitable political and economic crisis of the capitalist system in its highest phase, imperialism, today’s society under this system is also engulfed in a moral crisis, one of identity and dignity, a crisis that cannot be eliminated with bourgeois reforms, except through revolutionary clashes.
In 2006, the bourgeoisie thought they could stop the crisis with anti-communist resolutions, but the opposite happened. After nearly two decades, here we are with an “unexpected map” of the resurgence of nazi-fascism. In the latest elections among the EU states, the contingent of the extreme right, alias nazi-fascism, expanded the “electoral map” in France, Italy, Germany, Austria, and almost in the majority of the states of this institution of “democracy” without democracy. The apologists of the Union in question try to tell us that even with this rise of the right, the EU does not risk changing its “democratic” policies. This was also said in the 1930s, but Hitler, with the help of President Hindenburg, managed to become Chancellor of Germany, from where he officially proclaimed the “Third Reich,” which was followed by his two favourites, Italian fascism and Japanese militarism, the consequences of which the world experienced with one of the most destructive wars in human history.
But let’s turn our attention to this “hut” of ours called Albania. Although not an EU member, our country, Albania, not only approved the “European Anti-Communist Resolution” of 2006 with “all four legs,” but also took measures and established special institutes to implement it on the ground, such as the “Institute for the Study of Crimes and Consequences of Communism,” an institute for lectures, publications, reports and denigrations beyond any truth of our people’s history.
Thanks to the “contribution” of this institute and the unreserved support of the bourgeois state in our country, the order and society itself in Albania have entered the path of fascization in political, economic, and social life and activities. Albania is a small country, and as such, even if a fascist junta comes to power, for Europe it is a small evil, which can be controlled and paralysed. But while it is a small evil for the world and Europe, it is a great misfortune for the Albanian people. Although we do not have a military junta, the fascization of political, economic and moral life has already begun. And this is enough to undermine a country and a people in their vital interests. The Albanian political class, a class completely degenerate to the core, not only goes against the interests of the people and the country but has also taken on the appearance and behaviour of neo-nazis. Beards and black shirts are just their external appearance. Within today’s Albanian parliament, there are also “Arturo Uis” with the names Berisha, Basha, Meta, Alibeaj, etc., as well as the elders of the Doksboru (Hindenburg) type from the Socialist Party alias Renaissance.
Certainly, the Albanian Arturo Uis are too small to risk the region of Europe with their nazi-fascism, but as we said above, they are sufficient to impoverish our country and people. While in the Middle East and North Africa, crowds of refugees flee their homelands to escape terrorist organizations and aggressive states led by the chief aggressor, the USA, thousands of Albanians continue to take the roads to Europe and the world, not only for economic reasons but also to escape the already fascized life in their country. The current situation in our country is very similar to that of Germany in the 1930s. Total crisis in all socio-economic fields; drugs, corruption, and political prostitution; ordinary and organized crimes by gangs with the participation of state segments and politicians; violations of citizens’ basic rights; censorship and self-censorship in the media; permanent abuses of the citizen’s vote; unpunished crimes that in three and a half decades have built a “pyramid” larger than that of Cheops, etc., etc., have secured the necessary basis for the revival of the bacilli of nazi-fascism.
The constant neo-nazi calls for the banning of communist symbols and Enver Hoxha’s portraits, to which the calls of Monsignor Masafra joined some time ago, leading him to resign from the post of Bishop, are very similar to Hitler’s calls in 1933. The silence of state authorities in the face of these neo-nazi calls indicates that our “democratic” state, even formally, has fallen and become part of fascization. On the other hand, the silence of the international community, especially the Europeans who are monitoring us, raises reasonable questions, suggesting that someone wants to turn Albania into an “Illyricum” (an empty place for the remnants and refugees of the world), or even into a missile testing ground like North Korea.
Albanians should heed the call of the German communist, Ernst Thälmann, which the Germans ignored and followed Hitler like sheep, ending up in the “slaughterhouse.” But calls from Albanian communists and intellectuals and progressive forces have not been lacking. They call for vigilance, tirelessly repeating two warnings: Brecht’s that “the womb that bore (fascism) is not yet sterile,” and the Czech Julius Fučík’s, “People, I have loved you, be vigilant!”
I conclude with the testament of our legendary leader, Enver Hoxha, addressed to the Albanian people on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the liberation of the Homeland (November 29, 1984):
“Let us protect, like the apple of our eye, everything we have achieved, develop it further with consistency, leave future generations an ever stronger Albania, always red, like the unquenchable flame of communist and partisan hearts and ideals, an Albania that will live and progress through the centuries.”
