Thanks to print and visual media, and the tragicomic situation in which we find ourselves, today we are confronted with all sorts of statements, pronouncements or analyses that are either true, half-true or complete nonsense. From these, I will try to select and share some on my Facebook page under the title “Fragments of Truth and Falsehoods,” seeking the opinions and thoughts of my friends and acquaintances.
Fragment 1:
NATO Does Not Want Peace nor Does It Respect the Rights of Peoples
Our Foreign Minister, Igli Hasani, after Strasbourg, travelled to Estonia on May 17, 2024, where he participated in the “Lennart Meri” International Conference, held in the capital of Estonia, Tallinn. In the panel that included the Prime Minister of Estonia and the Foreign Minister of Ukraine, Minister Hasani emphasized that Russian aggression in Ukraine continues to be the most critical threat to peace and security in the European continent and beyond.
When asked about Russia’s role in world security, Minister Hasani said:
“THE ONLY WINNER IN THESE TROUBLED TIMES IS NATO, THE ALLIANCE OF VALUES AND NATIONS THAT WANT PEACE AND RESPECT THE RIGHTS OF PEOPLES?”
If this is true, then why doesn’t NATO and the American imperialism that commands this alliance intervene in the state of Israel, their “holstered gun” in the Middle East, where since October 2023, about 36,000 innocent Palestinians have been killed and about 79,000 have been injured, not counting the homes and properties of the Palestinian people???!!!
I understand the position of our Minister Hasani, and all Albanian political leaders who, having their “horse” tied in Washington, cannot say a bad word about the USA and NATO, but at least they should remain silent and not tell us lies, which people now know inside and out, because this way they become untrustworthy even when they tell a rare truth.
