Dear Comrades:
First, we would like to congratulate you on the election of the new Central Committee, and of the leading comrades, and of First Secretary Comrade Ramiz Alia. We wish Comrade Ramiz Alia good health and a long life!
We take great pride in joining you on this historic occasion, the victorous conclusion of the majestic 9th Congress of your Party and the 45th anniversary of its founding. We bring you warm greetings and congratulations from the Marxist-Leninists, the working class, the justice- and freedom-loving people and all well-wishers of socialist Albania in North America.
Dear Comrades: We have come here to hail your victories, but also to tell you that we are on your side, just as you are on ours. We have come to hail your glorious Party, founded by your great leader Comrade Enver Hoxha, the Party which does not know how to recoil in the face of any difficulty. The Party is the architect of all your victories and the great unifying force in the International Marxist-Leninist Communist Movement, the Party which defends the rights and struggles of the peoples everywhere for freedom, enlightenment and social progress.
We hail too your socialist land, the brilliant refutation of all the lies and slanders of imperialism, social-imperialism, the bourgeoisie and reaction against genuine socialism. The enemies say that no society can survive without exploitation; that no country can live without stretching out its hand to the big powers; that socialism cannot be built in a small country; and that the restoration of capitalism is inevitable. Yet here stands Albania, a small country, doing very well without exploiters, bending its knee to no one, and proving with each day that passes that the only real inevitability is socialism. By the very fact of its existence, socialist Albania sounds the death knell for the old world which the enemies strive by might and main to preserve. It is the impregnable fortress of world revolution and an indomitable obstruction to their plans to plunge the world into darkness and despair.
Now, dear comrades, allow me to express to you our feelings about your legendary figure, your greatest son, Comrade Enver Hoxha. We were first introduced to Enver Hoxha amidst the sound of artillery fire at the 1960 Moscow Meeting, the fire directed by your Party and Comrade Enver against the Khrushchevite traitors. Driven into panic, the revisionists hysterically branded the PLA and Comrade Enver as villains and spread the slander everywhere. But not for one moment were we deceived as to who the real villains were. Today, after 26 more years of continuous battles, I tell you openly dear comrades that your Party and unforgettable leader have won our undying respect and love through their glorious deeds.
Comrade Enver Hoxha has bequeathed to you and to the peoples of the world his life’s work, the work of an outstanding Marxist-Leninist. He has left us his Party, now headed by Comrade Ramiz Alia, a thoroughly revolutionary Marxist-Leninist Party single-mindedly devoted to the cause of revolution and socialism. He has left us socialist Albania, strong as steel, free and prosperous, a beacon of hope to all oppressed mankind. And he has left us his theoretical works, his generalizations about the new experience of building socialism in Albania and of the communist movement since World War II, a profound enrichment of Marxism-Leninism and an unerring guide for us all. For us, this is the greatest possible assistance, an act of proletarian internationalism which we shall always cherish.
How can we ever repay this great debt? We can only repay it by acting as Comrade Enver Hoxha himself acted: with fidelity to Marxism-Leninism and loyalty to the cause of our own people. We will perpetuate his immortal name and work and defend socialist Albania by carrying our revolution through to the end. This, dear comrades, we pledge before you on this great day, the day which signals our past achievements and our still greater common victories of the future.
