39 Years After the Death of Enver Hoxha, We Reaffirm His Legacy

– Communist Party of Mexico (Marxist-Leninist) –

On April 11, 1985, Comrade Enver Hoxha, the Albanian Marxist-Leninist leader, passed away. An important figure in the contemporary class struggle, he led the national liberation war against fascism and imperialism in Albania, the Balkans and the rest of the world. He was the founder of the Communist Party of Albania and the builder of the People’s Socialist Republic of Albania, which pursued scientific socialism. He was a staunch defender of Marxism-Leninism and Stalin’s role in the Soviet Union until his assassination — as Enver suspected due to the strange circumstances of his death — and against the attacks of revisionism led by Nikita Khrushchev, attacks that justified their betrayal of scientific socialism and their degeneration into capitalism, which occurred with the assault on Soviet power led by the Bolsheviks under Stalin, Molotov and others who were persecuted and murdered.

He also confronted the revisionists of Yugoslav self-administration — whom Stalin had already fought against — Maoism, which Stalin also correctly placed outside of Marxism and whose influence was powerful in the international communist movement, and Eurocommunism, all deformations of Marxism-Leninism, which in his various texts and revolutionary practice he exposed as theories in the service of the capitalist-imperialist system, as they are clearly demonstrated to be today.

In power in his country, with the Party of Labour of Albania, he maintained efforts to sustain scientific socialism with the dictatorship of the proletariat to ensure the construction of socialism following the classics of Marx, Engels, Lenin and Stalin in the face of the degeneration of the socialist camp with the rise of revisionism in the Soviet Union. Faced with the onslaught of the enemies of the proletariat, the working class and the peoples, fierce imperialists and the bourgeoisie in general, bloodthirsty and irreconcilable enemies, during his leadership he contributed to the construction of the international Marxist-Leninist movement, formed by parties and organizations that broke with Khrushchevism, Maoism and other revisionist expressions and developed the multilateral ones that today exist in the International Conference of Marxist-Leninist Parties and Organizations.

Upon Enver Hoxha’s death, revisionism also seized power in Albania, leading to its degeneration, currently leaving Albania as a capitalist country plundered by imperialist powers which Enver tirelessly fought against.

We give well-deserved recognition to this great Marxist-Leninist, placing him alongside many others who have sacrificed their lives for the liberation of the proletariat, for socialist revolution, the dictatorship of the proletariat, scientific socialism and communism.
